The Lowther Hotel Cancellation Policy

We require a valid credit card to secure bookings and/or take a deposit and reserve the right to charge the card for cancellations falling outside the permitted time scales, as detailed below. By entering into this contract you are authorising us to make the above charges to the card without any additional consent being required.

1. Cancellation: your reservation is made with The Lowther Hotel (the 'hotel'), and represents a legally binding contract between you and the hotel. The word "room(s)" applies to all accommodation, meetings and other function rooms unless otherwise stated below.
2. We always endeavour to re-sell any cancelled room(s) and, if successful, will reimburse you pro rata (except for Special Offer bookings, see below). For bookings of 3 days or more, we strongly advise that holiday insurance is taken out.
3. For Special bookings, wedding packages, party functions there is no refund on cancelled bookings. We strongly advise wedding insurance be taken out. Please note again if we can re-sell that date your deposit will be refunded.
4. For Festive packages (e.g. Easter, Christmas etc.) there is no refund for cancellations unless the package can be re-sold in full.
5. Bookings of one hotel bedroom for stays of one or two days require 3 days notice of cancellation or part cancellation or change of date. Otherwise the cost of one or two nights will be charged using the relevant B&B price quoted at the time of booking. For stays of 3 nights or longer, 7 days notice of cancellation or part cancellation is required or the cost of the first three nights' stay will be charged using the B&B rate quoted at the time of booking.
6. Bookings of two hotel bedrooms or more for stays of one or two days require 14 days notice of cancellation or part cancellation or change of date. Otherwise the full cost of each room cancelled will be charged, using the B&B price quoted at the time of booking. For stays of 3 nights or longer, 14 days notice of cancellation or part cancellation is required or the cost of the first three nights' stay will be charged using the B&B rate quoted at the time of booking.

All functions must be paid in full six weeks before the function date.

Please note discounted rates, offers or packages may not be used in conjunction with any other discounted rates, offers and packages.
